Helpful review: Let me tell you about this gun safe. A few weeks ago, my son told me he was gonna get a handgun. To be honest, I have some issues with him owning a gun, mostly because I have four grandchildren living in the same house with him. They live in Dover, NH. I live nearby in Portsmouth, and I work in the Criminal Justice System, so I know a lot about family fire and all that stuff, and how too often children are hurt by it.
Personally - I own several pistols and rifles, and all are protected well in safes. I first bought this Awesafe for myself. This one is the NEWLY upgraded version of the biometric option. Here’s what I have to say based on my own personal experience:
- Delivery was quick.
- The safe has a lot of space for one big pistol or two small ones.
- You can also shove some valuables, such as jewelry and passports.
- The fingerprint scanner works flawlessly.
- There’s also a PIN option and keys as backup.
So I was so pleased with it, that ordered one for my son when he bought his first handgun. He was extremely pleased with it as well. He even went as far as filming himself using the fingerprint scanner and sending it to me. He was really worked up about that fingerprint option. He loved the blue light - so did I. that blue light is turned on when the lid opens in the dark. I was so impressed, I ordered another safe for myself.
My husband and I are retired, and there are no kids around, but I want to be on the safe side. Our grandchildren are visiting often, and they’re staying over, so I need every pistol and rifle secured in a safe. Moreover, we love to travel, so knowing that all firearms are locked in safes gives me the peace of mind I need to enjoy my vacations. This is a really high quality safe to properly store handguns. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.
I also really love its color. It’s a very nice shade of black, and the keypad’s buttons light up when you touch them. And, last but not least - the price! It’s very affordable.
